How to fill-in your submission form

The following materials should be submitted via our awards portal / online form (hosted on Nuova Global website):


    • Project Description (150-250 words)
    • Project Summary (max. 80 words; this will be used on our website, exhibition panels and/or other marketing collaterals.)
    • Digital representation of the project outcomes (website, articles, audiovisuals…)
    • Write-up based on each evaluation criteria (max. 100 words each)
    • Contact details of candidate
    • 3-10 hi-res images
    • 1-2 mins video presenting the project (optional, for public voting).

UNITY Mark Award 2022 is an award for projects carried out between January 2019 and December 2022.

Submission Fees

Each submission is required to follow through the award process and no withdrawal is allowed after submissions are closed.

What is the UNITY Mark Award (UMA)?

UNITY Mark Award is being launched for the first time in 2022. The purpose of the award is to prize individuals, organizations, media companies and enterprises from around the globe that positively impact a united world in their localities or regions.

Entries which fulfil the criteria for the UNITY Mark may use the logo on their products, stationery and marketing collateral.

Organiser of the Unity Mark Award is the Nuova Global Foundation.

What projects/products are eligible for submission?

We are looking for campaigns, online and print content or newsletters created and published by individuals, organizations, media companies and enterprises from around the globe who have created and spread content that inspires and promotes unity, reconciliation and dialogue.

How do I submit my project/product?

    How to fill-in your submission form
    • Choose a category: Decide on the category for your submission.
    • Tell your story: Briefly describe the story behind your project and tell your nomination apart from the others.
    • Be concise and specific: Avoid vague and general statements, do not use complex sentence structures.
    • Focus on quantitative and qualitative results of your activities: Indicate what impact your project has had and what your next objectives are.
    • Be open and transparent: Communicate openly any failures of your activities or problems in their implementation.
    • Work on the nomination in advance: Take your time with the nomination and don’t leave it to the last week to complete.
    • Do not hesitate to consult the nomination: we are happy to help you if there is something unclear.

      What are the categories of UMA??

      The UNITY Mark Award is being given in 4 categories:

        • Category 1) Public Awareness Campaigns
        • Category 2) Online or Print Content / Newsletters
        • Category 3) Videos or Podcasts
        • Category 4) Video Games, Apps and Interactive Challenges

      Besides this, a public voting will be effectuated.

      Which themes are the submitted projects expected to cover?

      The submitted projects are expected to have positively impacted a better and more united world in their localities or regions by promoting any one of these themes:

      Trust & understanding
      Trust & understanding is about nurturing positive expectations and openness to learn about different perspectives and bridge differences.

      Inclusion & diversity
      Inclusion and diversity is about fostering an environment in which all members of the community are treated equitably and able to contribute actively.

      Dialogue & reconciliation
      Dialogue & reconciliation is about sparking conversations and restoring social cohesion.

      Peacebuilding
      Peacebuilding is about dealing with the reasons for conflict and supporting communities/societies to manage their differences without resorting to violence.

        Can I submit running projects?

        Projects that were planned for one year or less have to be concluded.

        Projects planned to run more than one year have to have the first year of planned projects concluded (i.e. magazines, regular publishing, etc.)

        How many projects can I enter?

        Each applicant can submit as many projects as they wish as long as the project(s) submitted meets the criteria. An applicant may not nominate a project in more than two categories. A separate entry must be completed for each project. Every entry in a different category counts as a new submission. Submission and Award-Winners Package fees apply.

        Can I submit 1 project in different categories?

        Each project can be submitted in two categories max.

        How do I submit for UMA?

        You can submit the completed nomination form by filling in the electronic form accessible through the website nuovaglobal.org. You will also find a list of your entries as well as all guidelines needed for taking part there.

        You can save the submission at any time and continue it at a later stage.

        Can I withdraw my submission?

        You may withdraw anytime before the submission deadline, 30 December 2022. However, the submission fee is not refundable under any circumstances. After 30 December 2022, no withdrawals are allowed.

        Once the online screening is completed and your project is awarded a UNITY Mark Award, no withdrawals are allowed. You will be liable to pay the compulsory Award-Winners Package Fee of USD$1,000 – USD$5,000.

        Could you please share about the award and its reputation in the world?

        The award is a new one and this is its first edition. It represents one of a series of pilot projects of the Nuova Global Foundation, who’s scope is to support solution journalism and journalistic and mediatic projects offering value driven communication aimed at making the world a better and more inclusive place.
        Nuova Global builds on the heritage of the UNESCO Peace Prize winner from 1994 Chiara Lubich and a global network of 20+ magazines and publishing houses on all continents she brought to life in 1953.
