UNITY Mark Award — Recognizing Content That Inspires Unity, Reconciliation, and Dialogue
1. ABOUT THE AWARD
The UNITY Mark – Award for Content that Inspires and Promotes Unity, Reconciliation, and Dialogue (referred to as the “Award”) honors individuals, organizations, media companies, and enterprises that create impactful content fostering unity and dialogue. The award is abbreviated as UNITY Mark Award, followed by the respective year. For 2025, the award recognizes projects carried out between January 2023 and March 2025.
2. PURPOSE
The award aims to:
- Recognize and celebrate outstanding efforts in spreading content that inspires unity, reconciliation, and dialogue.
- Amplify the impact of individuals and organizations by providing visibility and appreciation.
- Strengthen a global network of communicators and media actors working for a united world.
3. ORGANIZER & MANAGEMENT
The Nuova Global Foundation (referred to as “the Organizer”) is responsible for announcing and managing the Award. To oversee the process, the Organizer appoints an Award Committee.
Upon announcing the Award, all relevant details, nomination procedures, submission guidelines, and the full award timeline—will be published on nuovaglobal.org.
4. SELECTION CRITERIA
Each year, the Evaluation Committee (jury) selects winners in the announced categories.
5. PARTICIPATION (ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA)
- Only business entities, non-profits, or individuals who have not been legally convicted in the past three years for business-related activities are eligible for nomination.
- Nominations can be submitted by the applicant or groups of entities meeting the Organizer’s conditions. For joint projects with NGOs or other partners, partner consent must be included in the application.
- Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are defined as entities with an annual sales turnover not exceeding €50million.
6. NOMINATION PROCESS
- Nominations must be submitted via the electronic nomination form for the relevant category, available on nuovaglobal.org on the award announcement date.
- Completed forms must be submitted by 1 May 2025, 23:59 CET.
- The Organizer will confirm receipt via email within two working days. If no confirmation is received, applicants must contact the Organizer immediately; otherwise, the nomination is considered undelivered.
- Only nominations that meet the basic requirements and are received before the deadline will be evaluated. The Organizer will inform applicants within seven days if additional information is required.
- Late submissions or incomplete applications will be excluded from the evaluation, with applicants notified via email.
- Entries from award partners or sponsors (or third-party submissions related to them) are not eligible.
- Projects that have previously won an award cannot be nominated again.
7. OBLIGATIONS OF PARTICIPANTS
Participants must fulfill the following:
- Provide all required materials for online, physical, and on-site screenings.
- Consent to promotional and marketing activities if awarded the UNITY Mark.
- Allow winning entries to be exhibited on dates determined by the Organizer.
- Cover transportation, installation, and dismantling costs for exhibitions.
- Pay all submission and award-winner package fees by the specified deadlines.
8. WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Applicants may withdraw before the submission deadline by notifying the Organizer via email at info@nuovaglobal.org, stating their reason for withdrawal. Submission fees are non-refundable.
9. INFORMATION DISCLOSURE & USAGE
- The UNITY Mark promotes public engagement by sharing information on nominated projects through its website, exhibitions, conferences, press releases, and marketing materials.
- Unless marked as [ND] (Non-Disclosure), the Organizer has the right to disclose participant-provided information.
- Confidential information marked as [ND] will be used strictly for screening purposes.
- Applicants grant the Organizer permission to use and modify provided information for promotional and public engagement purposes. The Organizer is not required to obtain applicant approval before disclosure.
10. EVALUATION PROCESS
- Evaluation Committee Formation: The Organizer establishes an Evaluation Committee. Membership is honorary and non-representative. The Organizer coordinates discussions, facilitates meetings, and provides additional information without voting rights.
- Confidentiality: Meetings are closed, and discussions, voting details, and nomination sheet contents remain confidential. Committee members must uphold this confidentiality.
- Announcement of Winners: Only the Organizer may announce the winners on the designated date.
- Evaluation Rounds: The evaluation occurs in two rounds:
- Final and Binding Decisions: The Evaluation and Award Committee’s decisions are final and cannot be altered.
- Right to Withhold Awards: If no nominations meet category criteria, the Committee may decide not to grant an award.
- Request for Additional Information: Evaluators may request further details from nominees through the Organizer, with all committee members receiving the provided information.
- Finalist Presentations: Shortlisted nominees must present their projects in person or online, following the Organizer’s guidelines.
- Regulation Amendments: The Organizer reserves the right to modify award regulations and terms as necessary.
11. CONFLICT OF INTEREST
- Impartiality Requirement: Committee members must not evaluate or vote on any nomination where they have a formal or informal relationship that could influence their decision-making.
- Mandatory Disclosure: Members must disclose conflicts of interest to the Organizer before nomination sheets are assigned.
- Prohibited Representation: A Committee member cannot represent an Applicant in any award category.
12. DISQUALIFICATION, REVOCATION, AND SUSPENSION
- The Organizer may disqualify or revoke the UNITY Mark if:

- The awardee violates applicable laws, responsible business principles, or these statutes.
- Submission and winners’ package fees are not paid on time.
- The awardee is found to have infringed intellectual property rights.
- The awardee misuses the UNITY Mark against the specified guidelines.
- Public Renouncement: Disqualified or revoked entries will be removed from all platforms and publicly denounced.
13. RELEASE OF RESULTS
- Publication Timeline:
- Within two weeks of closing, the Organizer will list all nominations on nuovaglobal.org.
- Within two weeks of shortlisting, the shortlist will be published.
- Confidentiality Before Official Announcement: Requests for individual results before the official announcement will be denied.
- Announcement of Winners:
- Winners will be announced in May 2025.
- Awards will be presented at the UNITY Conference in June 2025.
- Results will be published on the Organizer’s website and communication platforms.
- Delays in Announcements: Unforeseen events (e.g., natural disasters, security threats, key personnel loss) may delay result announcements.
- Right to Withhold Awards: If entries do not meet top-tier standards, no awards will be granted.
14. PROTECTION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) RIGHTS
- Use of Personal and Corporate Information: The Organizer will use provided information solely for award processing, with the Applicant’s consent.
- Copyright and Usage Rights:
- Applicants retain copyright over submitted materials.
- The Organizer may use submissions for screening and public release with Applicant consent.
- Promotion of Awarded Entries: The Organizer may use winning entries for publicity, including media coverage, website listings, exhibitions, and promotional materials. Reasonable modifications may be made for formatting purposes.
- IP Reference: Refer to the Intellectual Property Office of the Kingdom of Spain for further IP rights information.
15. DECLARATION OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
- Indemnity Clause:
- Applicants shall hold Nuova Global Foundation (NGF) and the UNITY Mark Management Team harmless from liability, damages, or intellectual property infringement claims.
- Applicants must comply with UNITY Mark rules and Kingdom of Spain laws.
- The UNITY Mark Management Team is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of property related to the application.
- Third-Party Disputes: The Organizer holds no liability for disputes between Applicants and third parties concerning UNITY Mark applications or awards.
16. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Modification Rights: The Organizer reserves the right to amend these statutes at its sole discretion.
- Effective Date: These Terms and Conditions are effective as of 6 March 2025.
